Senior Management Consultant (WC1449)

The Role

Recruitment criteria for Senior Management Consultant:

Selection criteria:

  • Good degree
  • Cost or profit centre accountabilities over several consecutive years very useful
  • Some recent consultancy experience preferable (minimum 3 years)
  • Interest in capital projects, infrastructure, construction & building materials useful
  • European languages useful but not essential
  • Knowledge of modern analytical techniques essential, practitioner status is not (e.g. Lean, 6 Sigma)
  • Looking to develop career further in consultancy and build their own portfolio.
  • Getting the phone to ring:
    - Ability to maintain and develop relationships with managers (candidates rarely bring relationships to consultancies)
    - Able to give managers something between assignments – industry gossip, useful technical information, introduce relevant contacts etc.
    - Commercial aptitude – able to identify an opportunity to discuss a possible assignment and willing to persevere to convert an opportunity, strong on tolerance of uncertainty, and able to act expediently when appropriate
    - Must be able to plan, deliver and conclude assignments, and win client approval

Salary and benefits:

  • Basic salary, six figures between 100 and 200k
  • 7% Defined Contribution by company for new starts
  • Car allowance
  • BUPA
  • Life insurance – 4 x basic
  • Bonus for a full financial year (same as calendar year), normally 10% of salary
